What you can ask
WorkStory MCP is permission-aware, so every answer is grounded in the feedback, reviews, and goals the person asking is already allowed to see. That makes it useful at every level of the organization:
- HR and People teams — track engagement over time, build a quarterly org-health snapshot, spot managers who need coaching support, or draft a structured performance improvement plan from someone's actual feedback history.
- Managers — prepare for a 1:1 in minutes, or turn months of recognition and scope growth into an evidence-backed promotion case.
- Employees — see your own growth story over time, turn a recurring feedback theme into a development plan, or build your case for a raise or promotion from real examples.
How it works
WorkStory MCP is a Model Context Protocol server. Once connected, Gemini can query your WorkStory workspace on your behalf — pulling the relevant feedback, review summaries, and goals into the conversation so you can ask follow-up questions, compare periods, and export the result as a plan, a summary, or a presentation outline.
- Access follows WorkStory's existing permissions. Nobody sees data through Gemini that they couldn't see in WorkStory.
- Answers cite the underlying feedback rather than inventing it.
- Works alongside your existing Gemini workspace; nothing about your day-to-day setup changes.
Getting started
WorkStory MCP is available to WorkStory customers. Ask your account manager to enable it, then add the WorkStory MCP server as a connector in your Gemini environment (availability depends on your Google Workspace configuration). New to WorkStory? See the MCP overview or book a walkthrough.
