How Do I Connect WorkStory MCP to Gemini?

Connect WorkStory in Gemini CLI or through a Gemini app or Enterprise connector managed by your Google Workspace admin.

Choose the Gemini setup that matches your workspace

The right connection method depends on whether you use Gemini CLI in a terminal or Gemini through a Google Workspace or Enterprise environment. Both use the same WorkStory MCP endpoint: https://app.workstory.team/mcp.

Gemini CLI

  1. Open ~/.gemini/settings.json for all projects, or .gemini/settings.json in one project.
  2. Add WorkStory to the mcpServers block:

{
 "mcpServers": {
   "workstory": {
     "httpUrl": "https://app.workstory.team/mcp"
   }
 }
}

  1. Restart Gemini CLI and run /mcp to confirm WorkStory is listed.
  2. The first time you use it, sign in to WorkStory and approve access.

Gemini app or Gemini Enterprise

Custom MCP connectors are managed centrally. Ask your Google Workspace admin to add a WorkStory MCP connector using https://app.workstory.team/mcp with OAuth sign-in. The first time you use it, sign in to your own WorkStory account.

WorkStory only returns the information your account can already see. See Claude, ChatGPT and Codex, Microsoft Copilot, or the MCP overview.
