Connect it in four steps.
Add WorkStory
In Claude, browse connectors and add WorkStory.
Click Connect
The first time Claude needs your data, it shows a Connect card. Click it.
Sign in normally
Use the same WorkStory email and password you use for app.workstory.team. Approve the consent screen. There is no separate account or password.
Switch it on
In a new chat, enable WorkStory in that conversation’s connector settings. Claude only uses connectors switched on for that chat.
Add WorkStory by URL, then complete the same sign-in when prompted.
https://app.workstory.team/mcpSay when you want WorkStory data.
Claude decides when to reach for WorkStory—you never name a tool yourself. If it answers from general knowledge, mention WorkStory, or name a person, team, or review cycle.
Claude sees only what you can see.
Your company only
Every request is scoped server-side to the signed-in company. No question can reach another company’s data.
Your permissions only
Claude follows the same access rules as the WorkStory web app. Connecting it never widens your access.
Your data stays protected
Claude can look up and summarize the WorkStory information you already have access to. The only action it can take is sending a feedback request—and it always asks you to approve that first.
What you can ask Claude to do.
Understand your team
Find reporting lines, peers, reviewers, and manager assignments—including people assigned outside the reporting line.
Who are my direct reports, and who does each of them report to?
Explore feedback
Pull feedback given or received, filtered by date, category, role, or author. Ask for detail, totals, or grouped patterns.
Summarise the feedback I’ve received this quarter, grouped by category.
Track reviews and cycles
Check cycle progress, find outstanding reviews and owners, or read scores and comments from completed reviews.
What’s the status of our current review cycle, and which performance reviews are still pending?
Ask for feedback
Request feedback now or schedule it for later. Because this changes WorkStory data, Claude asks you to confirm first.
Ask Dana and Priya for feedback on Sam, and send it next Monday.
You stay in charge.
Claude can answer questions without interrupting you. It uses only the WorkStory information you already have permission to see. Before it sends a feedback request, Claude shows what will happen and asks you to approve it.
Switch it off per conversation. Turning WorkStory off in a chat stops Claude using it there without disconnecting your account.
Disconnect whenever you want. Remove WorkStory entirely from Claude’s connector settings at any time.
Quick fixes.
Claude isn’t using WorkStory at all.
Check that WorkStory is switched on in that chat’s connector settings. Then name WorkStory—or a specific person or cycle—in your question.
Claude keeps asking me to connect.
Your session expired, or access was revoked in WorkStory. Click Connect and sign in again.
Claude says it can’t find a person or review.
It most likely exists but is not visible to your account. Check your access in the WorkStory web app first.
